Set in the desert town of Agadez of Niger, this film looks at the work of Mr. Tanko, a smith of the Hausa tribe. It illustrates the method of iron making that was used until the early 60s. It also explores the relationship between the Hausa and the Tuareg who deals in a different metal (silver), but shares a religious expression of Islam.
