The Library is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, Public Holidays and End-of-Year and New Year holidays (28th December to 4th January)

On Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, there are books and other materials available in the Study Corner established as an annex in the Permanent Exhibition Hall.

* The opening hours of the Human Relations Area Files (HRAF) are the same as the opening hours of the Library.

* On Wednesdays, please use either the Geihinkan (Guest House) Gate or the side entrance of the East Gate, because Senri Expo Park is closed on that day. To have the side entrance of the East Gate opened, please use the intercom installed beside the East Gate, but note that instructions will be given over the intercom only in Japanese. If you come to the library on one of the days the Museum is closed or before it opens (10:00 a.m.), please enter from the staff entrance, which, facing the main entrance, is located on the right hand side of the Museum.

Library books may be used by anyone, except the rare books.
To use the library, please bring an ID (such as your driver's license, insurance certificate, etc.) with you.

MINPAKU Library is located on the third floor of the Museum.
Before coming to the Library, please get a visitors' security card at the Information Counter or the Security Guards' Room on the first floor, or at the Ticket Counter or the Study Corner on the second floor.

After the necessary procedure at the library reception desk, please check your belongings (e.g. baggage and cell phone) in the cloakroom.

Visitors cannot take library materials out of Minpaku. Please use them in the library.

We can check out materials (except for some rare books) to Libraries of National and Private Universities. If you wish to do this, you can make arrangements through the library of your university. The lending period is for 20 days, including the days taken for mailing. Applicants have to pay all mailing costs to and from the library.

We are available for consultation concerning literature references and research.
