Minpaku (the National Museum of Ethnology) is an ethnic studies (cultural anthropology) research center in Japan. It is engaged in research and museum activities related to the societies and cultures of humankind, and these activities are grounded in fieldwork that is conducted around the world.
Located on the grounds of the Expo Commemorative Park (Banpaku kinen koen) in Suita City, Osaka, Minpaku offers visitors the chance to view exhibitions and video programs on societies and cultures from around the world. Visitors can also attend monthly Minpaku Seminars as well as occasional lectures and film shows. Various events related to Minpaku are also held at other locations.
Minpaku e-news is a monthly newsletter sent by e-mail that runs announcements from Minpaku. Subscription is free. Those who want to know more about the societies and cultures of humankind are encouraged to subscribe.
