Clothing for boys and girls for dol
KR 0201 - 0201   Republic of Korea

A child’s first birthday is called dol, and is grandly celebrated. On this day, the child is dressed in a saekdong, clothing with sleeves made by stitching cloths of many primary colors in vertical stripes. The Saekdong beautifully represents children’s dreams filled with hopes. It is also supposed to have a magical effect to bring in happiness and drive away evil.
