Drink should be sipped up through the pipe inserted diagonally into the flat, circular body. Another hidden bamboo pipe is used when filling the container. This bamboo pipe is inserted from the bottom to just below the top of the body, thus preventing the liquor from draining, when the container is placed upright after filling. The inside of the body is almost sealed, maintaining the taste of wine for a long time. Although the Yi people are mainly farmers in the Daliangshan area, they are also believed to have a tradition of nomadism, and it is pointed out that these wine containers that do not leak when shaken are very convenient for nomadic life.
