Traditional taverns used to be important places for information exchange, as well as comfortable places where travelers could relax, though now they are on the decline due to the development of transportation. The exhibit is the replica of a tavern in Asan City in Chungcheongnam-do. This tavern had a thatched roof when it was built in 1920, but the roof is now of slate. The exhibit has copper plates on its roof, and electric panels on the floor for ondol heating.
