Amidst kaleidoscopically changing conditions today, the social significance of academic research is again being questioned, and in that sense ethnology and cultural anthropology are no exceptions. This research will recognize this situation in pursuing the following twin objectives: (1) receiving reports from people who are in the position of actual experience in society and discussing the same, in order to know what the interests and requests are in society regarding anthropology and (2) observing what forms anthropology should actually take in society, with the objective of finding ways to develop areas of cross-discipline. More specifically, we intend to hold individual research meetings on the themes of medical care, education and development. While verifying what the connections are among the individual field work projects of anthropologists and the ethnographic knowledge resulting from them, we seek to clarify the kinds of issues anthropological knowledge can raise concerning these themes. Based on our examination of these specific cases, we will plan theoretical development in areas where anthropology and society interface.
