FY2004
Our joint research on corporate culture has until now addressed such subjects
as the salaried worker, company museums, company rituals and the globalization
of corporate culture. This research will continue from these results to conduct
comparative research on contemporary corporate and religious culture. Globalization
as a special characteristic of our times has had an especially conspicuous impact
on such organizations as companies and religious groups. The two are alike in
terms of administration, but in the case of Japan we can point to similarities
in structure arising from communal characteristics. Companies and religious groups
are also being impacted by the wave of globalization, and share the feature that
their structures have needed to undergo transformation. This research focuses
on the theme of connections to global phenomena. In terms of methodology we will
develop a management anthropology perspective that aims for cultural research
which equates management with systems operation. We aim to comparatively research
corporate founders (gurus), corporate ethics (religious ethics, spirituality),
market propagation, corporate religion and religious management.
