Let's Document Our Own Language! (For Spoken Language speakers)

A set of videos of the course on Language Documentation Training offered by the Language Documentation and Conservation Training Center (LDTC) at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa is made available to the interested general public on this page. Each "trainee" works with a staff member ("mentor") to learn how to describe and document their own language. A course lasts 8 weeks, with one session a week consisting of a 30 minute lecture, and 90 minutes of practical exercises.

The first lecture of the Fall 2012 course is currently available as a trial posting.  Powerpoint materials are available for all 8 sessions.

Let's Document Our Own Language! (For Sign Language users)

The Language Documentation and Conservation Training Center (LDTC) is currently developing a similar course for those who are sign language users and who are interested in documenting their own language. Once the course design is ready, the contents will also be posted here.
