Notice Regarding Changes to the Method of Visiting on Saturday, August 17th and Sunday, August 18th
Due to a large-scale event being held at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park on Saturday, August 17, 2024, and Sunday, August 18, 2024, please visit us using the following methods, which differ from usual. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
If you are using the Osaka Monorail “Banpaku-Kinen-Koen Station”
You cannot walk from the Osaka Monorail “Banpaku-Kinen-Koen Station” through the Central Gate of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park to the National Museum of Ethnology. Please use the free shuttle service from the rotary on the first floor of the Osaka Monorail “Banpaku-Kinen-Koen Station.” Please check the timetable before you go out.

If you are using the Osaka Monorail “Koen-Higashiguchi Station” or the “Nihon Teien-mae” bus stop
You can walk to the museum, but the route will be different from usual (see the map below). On the day of the event, please inform the staff near the East Gate that you are visiting the National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku).

If you are using the West Gate of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park
You cannot pass through the West Gate. Please inform the staff near the West Gate that you are visiting the National Museum of Ethnology (“Minpaku”). A free shuttle service will be provided as needed. Please note that the West Parking Lot of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park will not be available.
If you are using a private car or motorcycle
Only the “Nihon Teien-mae Parking Lot” (paid) will be available. On the day of the event, please inform the staff at the entrance of the Nihon Teien-mae Parking Lot that you are visiting the National Museum of Ethnology (“Minpaku”). The number of parking spaces is limited. Other paid parking lots in Expo ’70 Commemorative Park (East Parking Lot, South Parking Lot, Central Parking Lot, West Parking Lot) will not be available, so please use public transportation as much as possible.
If you are using a taxi
You can enter up to the “Nihon Teien-mae Parking Lot.” On the day of the event, please inform the staff at the entrance of the Nihon Teien-mae Parking Lot that you are visiting the National Museum of Ethnology (“Minpaku”).
