South Asia

South Asia extends from the mountain ranges in the north, to the Arabian Sea in the west, and the Bay of Bengal in the east. In this region there is a vast range of natural environments inhabited by peoples with an enormous diversity of religions, cultures, and ways of life. Wisdom of coexistence developed over the centuries, and, despite rapid industrialization, is preserved to this day. This gallary exhibits a diverse array of religions, subsistence patterns and crafts, together with new forms of popular culture emerging primarily in urban settings, and the booming textile culture in the midst of globalization.
